I’ve been working on my choices this week. Basically, I’m taking each day individually and working to make reasonable choices that will have a good impact on my overall health.
Every choice I make, no matter how big or how small, can affect my health.
Choosing to walk every day is a choice that is good not just for weight loss, but also for my mood, energy levels, metabolism, heart, and happiness. This week, I walked every day. And I didn’t walk just short little around the block walks. I walked all over my town. I was up and down so many streets. I was on new streets I’d never even seen before. I was just walking and sweating and making myself feel good.
Choosing to cut back on calories is a choice that will help my weight. I am not counting calories. I don’t use a special app or record keeping book. I have just been making an effort to eat a little less at each meal. What I’m discovering is that if I eat a little more slowly, and really focus on enjoying my food, eating a little less doesn’t bother me at all. I feel full without feeling stuffed… and that gives me an energy boost.
And finally, I have been choosing to think positively about myself. As I’ve mentioned before, I am fighting some very strong negative voices in my head. I’m actively working to shift my mindset to the positive. When I start to hear the negative creep in, I have been choosing to combat it with a positive thought about what I am doing to better myself. So far it has been helping. Being more positive creates a bigger drive in me – a drive that makes me want to keep trying.
How has your week gone?
