It’s been a pretty standard week since I started my new healthy journey. I’ve managed to stay away from excess sugar and fast food so I’m happy with that. I even downgraded the amount of the creamer I put in my coffee. Not a huge downgrade, but enough to notice. I’ll put a little less next week.
The weather here hasn’t been all that fantastic, but I did manage to get out for a walk one day.
I figure that with the crazy cold and the snow, one day of walking is better than none.
One of the highlights of the week was my final January weigh in. I stepped on the scale on the 31st totally expecting no change from just a few days before, but to my surprise… I had gone down!
My final weight loss total for January was 6.4 pounds!
I still haven’t scheduled my salon appointment. If you remember, my reward for January was to get a haircut at a nice salon. I don’t really know where to make the appointment. I’m not completely familiar with salons in my area, but I still plan to set the appointment. I really need a haircut… like bad! Even if it is just a trim… my ends are looking rough.
I’ve been eating a lot of veggies this past week. More than usual. I discovered how much I like filling my lunch with them. I have always liked veggies, but got in the habit of filling lunch with garbage for quite a while there. I’m feeling so much better with my bell peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, and whatever else strikes my fancy at lunch time.
I’ve also been watching quite a few documentaries that are helping to keep me motivated. That Sugar Film and Is Sugar the New Fat? are both on Amazon Prime and are really quite informative.
Oh! And I discovered that I love avocado spread all over a piece of toast with tomato on top. Who knew?! I remember a day when I wouldn’t touch avocado. Then, I decided I liked guacamole with chips, but I still wouldn’t just eat avocado just to eat it. But now, now I think it tastes fabulous! I also like to sprinkle pepper on top… Yummy!
