This year, I began using the Plum Paper homeschool planner. I absolutely love it! It is by far the best homeschool planning tool I’ve ever come across. In fact, I love it so much that I took advantage of the Thanksgiving sale Plum Paper held and bought my planner for next school year.
As an added bonus, they threw in a really nice notebook – I love it, too!
Below are my current planner, new planner, and the notebook.
Up close of the new planner….
I received some feedback on my Instagram from people who wanted to see the inside of the planner, so below you will find quite a few pictures. The thing I love about Plum Paper is that their planners are fully customizable. From the front cover to the pages in between, you make it what you want it to be. And they are incredibly affordable, even when not on sale!
At the front of the planner is a full year at a glance for both 2018 and 2019. After that comes a place to plan for special dates throughout the year, and then is a section to do some idea and goal planning. I like this for brainstorming the homeschool year.
At the beginning of every month there is another, more specific goal setting area. It’s a place to write your top three goals for the month. I really like setting goals for my kids.
And like most planners, it has a spot for birthdays and events.
Both before and after each month there is a note page. You can even add more note pages if you want to, but I just kept the standard design on that.
Next up is the monthly view. Each month has a calendar with note area and all the important holidays are listed.
Each section can be customized to say whatever you want it to say. I customized mine with the studies of my children in mind. I have two children and next school year they will be in 7th and 9th grades. We will have some basic subjects, an addition of a more serious writing study, and electives. For two kids, this is plenty of room. I’m not sure about how it would work for larger families, but I do know that Plum Paper has a bigger homeschool planner that they offer as well.
The side headings were specific to what I wanted. You can write anything there or leave them blank. It is completely up to the person buying it.
I have two special homeschool sections added into the back of my planner. This year, I only had one and I found that I would have been happier with two. So now each kid has their own for next school year. In this section you can set goals, plan curriculum and extra activities, plan for supply buying, log grades and attendance, keep a reading log, set future goals, and so much more. It is a fantastic tool!
And all Plum Paper planners end with a great pocket folder. It is sturdy and I use it for all kinds of things that I need to keep handy.
While my planner may not look like exactly what you would want, you need to remember that this was made custom for me. You can get your own made custom for you. I love that! It is awesome to be able to design specifically what you need. You can even create one mega-planner with homeschool and personal life, gratitude, meal planning, finances, and fitness… it’s all up to you!
