Day ten of the NO SPEND month is focused on cleaning the kids’ rooms.
Ok, maybe you might want to do that. Kids can be clutter and mess magnets. Cleaning out their space can help them to realize what they already have in their lives and that they don’t need us, the parents, going out and buying them more.
But I confess to you that I will not be cleaning my kids’ rooms today.
And I further confess that my reason for not cleaning their rooms is because their rooms are already clean.
Kids’ rooms already clean? What type of sorcery is that?!
No magic, friends. It’s just how we live. The kids are right along with us on our minimalist life journey and their rooms reflect that. Things have already been decluttered, organized, made pretty, and spruced up. We just keep it that way… ALL THE TIME.
Today, I will just be relaxing. I’ll get back to the cleaning of things tomorrow. And that is ok because the challenge isn’t really about cleaning. It’s about not spending any money on things we don’t truly need.
And so far, we’ve done very well at not spending.
We had to buy a few groceries, but we haven’t purchased anything else.
However, I do see the potential for a problem… my husband is starting to crack. He said he would stick it out, but I’m beginning to doubt that he will. His add to cart syndrome is kicking in. He is talking about things he wants. I hope he can hold on, but I don’t know…
Ten days in and this is where things get tough.
